Tone:the californian's tale

1. The author in this story is Mark Twain. His attitude toward Henry'a action is so warm and full of his love that he has for Henry. The author try us to see Henry as a good kind, and honestly person, that he love his wife so much, he waiting for his wife every years, even he have a problem about he unstable emotion. But when I read I can feel love that Henry had for his wife, even he's sick, but he use his heart to love her. And I think that author wants us to feel that way.

2. The story is so tragic, it's almost make me cry. When I know that his wife had been died for many years ago, and Henry has a unstable emotion that he can't accept the truth about his wife. Author wants us me to cry, to feel sad, that even though how much Henry love his wife, Henry and his wife cannot be together. The author shows that when you love someone, even he/she is not with you anymore, you still love them. The author also wants me to experience fear, because we don't know how the story will ends.

3.The author's attitude toward characters is that how Henry can represent his feeling and emotion that the author want us to feel.  The author like and trust the character in the story that they can make the reader feels the emotion of the author. And how the character make the reader want to follow the story step by step and enjoy with the story until the end of the story.
